* Snatcher (Sega Mega-CD) - Great game, the gun is used well * Monster Hunter (Unreleased) - Was so good they didn't even bother releasing it * Menacer 6-game cartridge (Sega Mega Drive) - Not great, but a few decent titles * Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold (Sega Mega-CD) - Same as the first one * Mad Dog McCree (Sega Mega-CD) - Fun, but you gotta have fast reflexes * Crime Patrol (Sega Mega-CD) - Haven't tried it * Corpse Killer (Sega Mega-CD, Sega Mega-CD 32X) - Its functional at best * Body Count (Sega Mega Drive) - Haven't tried it Once again, would be better with a handgun than the bazooka. * Super Scope 6 (bundled with the hardware) - Some decent offerings in this one, for a pack in. * Operation Thunderbolt - Great game, but would be more fitting using a gun than the scope. * Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge - Sequel to Battle Clash, just as good as the first and just as fun. * Lamborghini American Challenge (it accesses a different game mode from the normal one) - More of a bonus than a full game * The Hunt for Red October (it is used for bonus games) - Why bother only having it for bonus stages? And the Bazooka shape is actually effective for this game. * Battle Clash - I actually like this one, a first person mech shooter. Here is the TOTAL of light gen games for the SNES: What really kills me though is game selection. Konami got it right with their Justifier later on, but you were stuck only playing Lethal Enforcers 1 and 2 with it (later seen with the GunCon and Time Crisis games in newer systems) Segas could be stripped down to a rather large handgun version, but with Nintendo you were stuck with the giant gun all the time. The NES had a good selection of games for its light gun, but things seem to have fallen apart for fans of the genre during the 16 bit era.īoth Nintendo and Sega screwed up by releasing huge guns more akin to a missle launcher than a gun.
